Tony Rothwell, Vice President - Marketing, is a third generation hotelier. He started his hotel career with Trust House Forte in England after training with an advertising agency and Unilever, Ltd. At Trust House he ran advertising and promotions, then joined Best Western in the U.K. as CEO, developing the fledgling company to become Britain's second largest chain. He moved from Best Western to operate Prince of Wales Hotels, Ltd. in partnership with Choice Hotels International, opening their first office in Europe, based in London in 1984. In 1987 he transferred to Choice in the USA and ran various aspects of marketing, including advertising and sales, over the following 14 years for Choice. He joined CHA in 2001 to spearhead the development of the management contract efforts. Tony is a member of the Institute of Communications, Advertising, and Marketing, a Founder Fellow of its Tourism Society, on the editorial board of "Tourism Management", a member of the Royal Institute of Marketing, and a recent board member of the Travel Industry Association of America. |
